“Our son is 8 years old and has been attending karate for 3 years. Our daughter is 6 years old and has been attending karate for 1 year.
Heishin-Kai has been a fantastic foundation for our children, teaching them self-defence, discipline and respect. It has been great for our son’s confidence and concentration. The instructors are supporting and caring, and the knowledge they pass on is priceless. They really motivate the children.
The fitness aspect is also a great bonus. Most inportantly, BOTH our children love going to class.”

Four years ago, our son Benjamin started karate with Heishin-Kai. Benjamin loves going to classes. He has met new friends, attended camps, and participated in tournaments and gradings. Heishin-Kai has helped develop Benjamin’s listening skills, self-discipline, and respect for self and others, while improving his physical stamina and confidence.
As a parent, I appreciate the way the dedicated instructors are always willing to provide feedback and guidance to improve every aspect of Benjamin’s progression. Heishin-Kai is like an extended family and we feel so proud and privileged to be part of such a wonderful karate school with strong traditional values.

My son Sammy started at Heishin-Kai Karate soon after he turned five, and under the caring and skilled training of his instructors, quickly developed enough skill to earn his first coloured belt. He’s enjoyed it from the start and really looks forward to his twice-weekly classes.
I like the fact that it’s a caring and traditional style school that places a lot of emphasis on values, respect, discipline and technique… yet also makes it a lot of fun for the kids. Their nurturing approach certainly reflects their name, which translates as “family of the peaceful heart.”
Thanks to his karate training, Sammy’s fitness, coordination, and listening skills have grown. I’d highly recommend Heishin-Kai Karate to any parents who want to get their kids away from computer games and into an active sport that goes far beyond the physical.
